this fr. in college i was friends with a B list celeb’s son, who, upon the outbreak of the war, immediately isolated himself from everyone i knew socially based on our “double standards” for jewish nation states. i saw him partying in tel aviv on social media not 3 weeks ago.

that being said, all other things aside, I do find the story about settler children attacking a journalist in Jerusalem deeply, deeply fucking disturbing, and correlational to a general trend I'd like to call "the general political direction of travel of Israel's youth bodes nothing well whatsoever"

this obviously is a problem and there are policy/lifestyle/community engagement solutions to this, but i think it’s created an interesting and generally positive relationship with *internet friends.* most of my fellow zoomers have intimate and meaningful relationships with people they’ve never met.

The hill I will die on is that this is not a digital problem. We don't send younger kids out to play by themselves anymore for fear of kidnapping/CPS, and those kids become teens who don't do it either. There's also a loss of third spaces for teens. Even the freaking malls require chaperones.
