Robert Caro has a very fun book series all about how the civil rights act was incremental
Freddie deBoer once tweeted something like “Was Social Security incremental? Was the Civil Rights Act? Medicare?” To which I responded “yes, yes, and yes” and started to explain how each of those landmark laws came about and were expanded … but he blocked me after the first tweet.
