I've always felt that putting good whiskey isn a Manhattan is not worth it. Put more money into the vermouth and better bitters. Of course the cherries that go for $21 a jar too
Most the cocktail recipes I saw called for rye, which I don’t have. So I used a Jameson stout caskmate that I had on hand.
It was that or Oban and I like the Oban a little more for sipping.
I'm doing a variation I call "The Verdict." Bourbon as in a Manhattan, scorched orange peel, extra bitter, with a cherry evidently at the bottom of it.
