Hey, a reminder I give people every now and then: a friend of mine got blackout drunk and emailed Bush on the night of the 2000 election and said “I’m going to kill you and you’ll never find me.” Six hours later he was in cuffs and it cost him thousands in legal fees and he’s still on a list.
Hey for real if you’re gonna get tiresome about a mistake my friend made almost a quarter century ago while blackout drunk, it’s very easy to block on here and I like doing it.
Anyway, I’m not gonna tell you how to live your life, but as for me, I don’t even like it when people know and like knock on my door unexpectedly, much less a couple of feds in suits.
Oh yeah, being real careful to never directly say if I think certain events would have been better if things had turned out differently. Always gotta post such things within a few layers of plausible deniabilty. Internet ain't private, especially not right now and ESPECIALLY not later
I tried to explain that to someone with violent fantasies about tfg a few weeks ago and they claimed the SS didn't pay any attention to what people post on social media.
Despite copious evidence to the contrary :(
Honestly the people that flippantly threaten peoples’ lives online will probably tone it down after the men in suits knock on the door to their apartment and haul them off for a two hour long polite interview and ultimately that’s good for them I think
I'm simultaneously thinking "that's incredibly dumb" and also "that is somehow still not quite as dumb as half the tweets that ended up as evidence in January 6th cases". I feel like my brain should not have a ready supply of example of things even more stupid than threatening a president-elect?
doesnt appear to worry #MAGAtrolls#magacult, they LIE and cheat every day and get away with it most times! a congressman accused biden of taking out felon trump today.... NO repercussions to that congressman!
