Albuquerque tried out a free fare program for the city busses a couple years ago and it was so successful that it became permanent last year.

Admittedly, ABQ isn't a major city in terms of land area or population, but it's a great test case for this sort of thing in general.

Good news! San Francisco should implement this.

Loveland, Colorado did free busses as part of its COVID plan, and went back to fares just a little while ago. Fort Collins has yet to reimplement fares, and it looks like fare-free busses are popular enough that they're going to keep it that way. I'm ready for this to catch on and continue.
