After reading just the definition section: This is a catastrophically bad bill - and I'm saying that coming from a very different position than Prof. Lemley when it comes to AI training and copyright. Also: It's critical to keep in mind that there's big money on ALL sides of AI discourse.

Too much symbolism here with the vandalism of this statue in Houston. I love the sentiments of the artist to leave the damage and not repair it. Statue Honoring Women and Justice Vandalized at University of Houston www.nytimes.com/2024/07/09/a...

I recently discovered an odd first-person maze game called “Lair of Squid” built into my HP 200LX palmtop PC, released in 1994 Then I found the author. Here’s the story of how this quirky Doom-inspired title came to be: arstechnica.com/gaming/2024/...

Artist Hitomi Terasawa drew a meticulous cross-sectioned rendering of Hong Kong's infamous Kowloon Walled City before it was razed in 1994. Now we have rare scans revealing the inner workings of the labyrinth-like metropolis. www.thisiscolossal.com/2024/07/kowl...

I’m back on this nonsense again. Although I have less gaming time with the Euros on telly, I can get more sketching done.

I'm a recent Affinity convert, I'd used Adobe shit for decades etc, no longer. It's finally the replacement I needed for everything. Not as a painter (there's other good options for too), but as a tech artist (so lots of fiddly precise tool needs).
The #Affinity suite is discounted again! Only 30% off this time, but that's a one-time purchase that's cheaper than a single year of Photoshop. I'm not an affiliate, just a fan.

When Total Replay was initially released on July 20, 2019, it featured 203 classic Apple II games in one disk image. It was a monumental achievement and there were questions if much more could be added. After almost five years of continuous updates, Total Replay has just added its 500th game.
