Daniil Mevedev, to the umpire, after she called (correctly, but it's irrelevant) "not up" against an Alcaraz drop, clearly cursing her "f*ck you, f*ck you, f*ck you, piece of $hit!" Serena Williams was disqualified (by a man, if it matters. By a White mam, if it matters) for much much less.

To those who say, "But the genocide," the alternative wants a reversal of green legislation, a national abortion ban, more Nazi justices, injecting bleach to treat a virus, hand over classified documents to our enemies, pardon murderers of BLM protestors... oh, and continue the war in Gaza, too.
My job in the White House was to know where every existing ton of GHGs is, how they will change over time, & what we need to do to get to net-zero by 2050. The Inflation Reduction Act is a huge win. We also launched the Net-Zero Game Changers Initiative, it’s good www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-roo....

Happy St. Totteringham's Day to those who celebrate!

Confronting brainless MAGAts near the Manhattan courthouse where ex-President Lysol is facing his first trial. "Where is everybody?" I asked. "There were many more earlier!" said one MAGAt. "So they just left to show their 'loyalty'?" I wondered. "Let's go, Brandon," they replied cryptically.

Take a second to think about what it means to be disappointed with a draw with Bayern Munich in the QF of the Champions League, compared with the club that we were a year and a half ago. We're going for all titles. Saint Totteringham's Day is as reliable as Christmas. We're massive. Again. #COYG!

@chrislhayes.bsky.social If Trump's bond is the equivalent of a deli napkin that some guy from California wrote $175M on, why was the MSNBC consensus that it would delay collection? Why can't AG James just start collecting once the deadline for submitting a VALID $175M has passed?

This shit appeared as an ad on my Google News feed from Audio Book Store dot com. I find it ignorant, shocking, and sad, even for a company from Missouri. Feel free to tell them what you think of them. I did.

@chrislhayes.bsky.social please let your corporate overlords know that as long as Ronna McGoebles is employed by NBC News, I'll be avoiding their product. NBC News can't be considered serious news organization when a serial liar, an insurrection supporter, and a Covid mass murderer is on your team.

I can't wait for Christina Unkel to pop up on a big screen and FIFA-splain to all of us why what we all saw was wrong and that the penalty for PSV against Dortmund was the right call even though Hummels got to the ball first and then Tillman dove, to the astonishment of Thierry Henry.

Ray Hudson on Ousmane Dembélé's dribbling: "The ball is stuck to his feet like a cellphone to a teenager." Once again, Ray Hudson shines like the Kohinoor diamond.

That was a 6:0 that could have been 10:0, we played that well! Free close-range headers for Trossard and Saka. 1-on-1 for Saka that went wide. Fantastic save from Trosard's volley. Two legit penalty shouts. Øde, Saka, Rice, and Trossard were fantastic. Our defense was solid. Nwaneri is a player!

How do you say schadenfreude in German, mate? I love to start my weekend with a little Spursy heartbreak! COYG!

The story, if news outlets had any journalistic integrity, would be headlined: Judge Refuses Trump's Request to Turn Closing Arguments into a Campaign Speech ...or better... Trump's Lawyers Reject Conditions Set by Judge to Prevent a Circus in Closing Arguments As stated, the headline is incorrect.
Trump can't deliver closing argument in New York civil fraud trial, judge ruleswww.cbsnews.com Former President Donald Trump will not be allowed to deliver his own closing argument in his civil fraud trial in New York on Thursday, the judge overseeing the case said.

On Jan 6 2021, then President Trump sent a mob to the Capitol to prevent the certification of an election that he lost by a lot. His MAGAt riff-raff attacked officers, breached and desecrated the Capitol, and called to hang the VP. Luckily, the coup failed. We must never forget Trump's Insurrection!
Tomorrow is Trump's Insurrection Day.

This first West Ham goal was a disgrace, which in Spanish means that the ball was clearly and obviously out, but because there was no angle that showed it out, only an angle that showed Bowen out hiding the ball, which was fully out, the refs whose salaries are mostly paid by UAE, called it good.

Go get yr Covid booster if you haven’t. They’ve (mostly) worked the kinks out now and if you get it soon you’ll be at peak protection for holiday travel and gatherings/the yearly January surge. Studies are showing the booster protects against the current dominant strain!
Info from the new(ish) CDC wastewater testing program shows Covid levels nationally and in Texas are high and trending upward.

Today would be the late, great Grant Wahl's 50th birthday. Almost a year ago, we lost a giant, a pioneer journalist who covered American soccer like no other, and the kindest person you'd ever meet. Happy birthday, buddy, I'll chat with you about Captain Ø's Wangeresque goal next time we meet! 🍻🎂

That filthy oil club of money-launderers and sportswashers, that bribed the VAR refs to spoil mighty Arsenal's Invincibles v2.0, were cheated by the VAR refs to concede a 90+7' penalty against that other oil club of money-launderers and sportswashers. How do you say schadenfreude in German?

I don't want to put the sled before the dog. Nor I want to cook my turkeys before they hatched. But Arsenal is one win at Brentford from going top. Early days, no jynxing, fingers crossed, blah blah blah.

Kids. Italy needed a draw to qualify for the Euros. The match ended: 1. 0-0. 2. A goalless draw. 3. nil-nil. 4. All of the above (which is also none of the above).

Today, I'm cheering for Dortmund. In fact, if Newcastle played against flesh-eating bacteria, I'd be for the latter. Even if they play against the loons that glue themselves to art. Just sayin'.

Happy Invincibles Day to those who celebrate. Happy Invincibles Day to those who don't celebrate, too. Except for the fans of clubs owned by sheiks who chop journalists in foreign embassies. To them, I wish a miserable Invincibles Day.
