Kansasfest was magic for many many years, and I'd like to think I played a small part in that magic in the brief period that I attended, presented, and participated. But the magic is over! I'm sorry if you missed it! It is okay to let conferences die. The magic of Kansasfest is not coming back.

Just wholly unequipped to meet the challenge of the present. Both of those committee members remain on the committee. There will be another in-person Kansasfest this summer. I would not recommend attending!

Happy anniversary to this tweet which was quoted verbatim by a Kansasfest committee member the next day on the Kansasfest mailing list. Last summer they held Kansasfest in person with no restrictions, a different committee member showed up sick, refused to leave, and half the conference got COVID.

The conceptual AI incongruity has gotten so feverish that we just received a pitch about the historical significance...of our own Journal.

Surprised (though maybe shouldn't be?) by how many AI pitch submissions weve been receiving for the ROMchip pitch call. What is less surprising is how deeply bad they are. Train on internet clickbait, ChatGPT and other genAI text generators really verge toward mediocrity of both concept & writing.

Truth! The first time I watched “Hoarders ,” after it was over I just sat there shuddering for a minute. Then I jumped up and got rid of nine garbage bags full of stuff.

My wife and I watched "Hoarders" while packing up our entire home the last time we moved and hoo boy does that help you make decisions about what's worth keeping
