When writing a prompt for an ai image generator becomes so much of a bother that people reaort to using chatgpt to write prompts, you know we're living in satire world.
yeah, it's not at the level of replacing software devs anytime soon (software dev friend of mine says Copilot is a great efficiency tool) but more to the point the STEM heads lording their superiority over the humanities majors are perhaps not quite as immune as they think.
At best, generative AI is a reference tool for coding. It can help explain coding concepts, provide examples that are usually functional (but not always), and identify errors. But we've had tools to do that (linters, jsdoc, intellisense, etc) for a while now. It won't replace any coders anytime soon
Depends on the language.
There are languages where it literally just makes shit up.
I couldn't get it to code a very simple Pong NES game, for example.
It's really bad at LSL used in Second Life.
I think I like it because it evokes two ideas: that the horse is the one doing the real work and that there are the vibes of the douche culture of shock jocks.
