Every fact I learn about Clarence Thomas confirms exactly what I thought of him when he went on his "high tech lynching" tirade 30 years ago. No, Clarence, it's Anita Thomas' career that you figuratively "lynched" because she wouldn't fuck you.

I feel like this is what gets lost the most in the Thomas discourse: Before he was ever a justice, he was already one of the most morally compromised individuals in the modern era to be nominated to the seat. Of course it makes sense his vote is for sale.

to be duly harsh, the two aren't even distinct enough to be hypocrisy- part of the way Black conservatives find purchase in the right is by conforming to the right's white supremacist views of Black America. Thomas's corruption is just subtler in that than the Herman Cain Minstrel Show was.
