A widely predicted victory for the far right in France has instead turned into a victory for the left *because people turned out in record numbers to vote.* Defeat is not inevitable and more progressive elected officials means more progressive policies.

In France, the left coalition comes in first, Macron second, the far-right third. The best way to defeat fascism is not centrism, it’s a strong left.

The 2nd leading pollster projects a similar result—if anything a higher range for the Left coalition. This wld be a much stronger result than expected for the Macron bloc. If confirmed, key takeaway: Left & Macronist voters transferred onto each other much more than expected. Clear anti-RN front.

“They want to eliminate national parks” is a very simple way to get just about anyone on the Stop Project 2025 train. Are there much more glaring and life-threatening goals of P25? Yes but even your most bigoted cousin does not want to see the parks system sold for parts.

The best thing the GOP ever did was call it Project 2025. It's not Trmp double-speak. So it's sticking a bit. Mopped themselves into a corner. There's some other term Trmp weirdos are using I'm forgetting that they're chanting to try to supplant it, but I don't see it working so far. Dieu merci.

He doesn’t even bother to disavow Project 2025’s aims, but the fact that they’re shying away from direct association with it demonstrates that it’s a vulnerability.
