This is anecdata, but 2 friends have had Covid cases in their families in the past few days. One is in New England and the other in Ohio, both of which are in regions where wastewater levels are LOWER than the west and south. The uptick is no joke. Wear a mask, even if it’s been a while.

Hi, I’m considering deactivating my account until you allow us to opt out of being able to be added to these starter packs. I know I’m just one person, but this feature will be used to harass marginalized people unless you let people opt out of this. Same goes for mute/block lists

The thing about very disabled people with big platforms is that they’re still very disabled & desperately clinging on to life.

there's always something happening on bluesky and i feel like i always have about 15% of the information i need to understand it.

(stealing the main point from @acab.dad since i think the skeet was deleted) starter packs/lists COULD have been built with consent as a driving principle, where people could accept invitations to be in a list before showing up (& withdraw consent at any time) ... but that's not how bluesky did it
