Me? I have been on a tough reporting trip and I still made time for a local twelve-step meeting! Also I wrote something for my newsletter I will probably post! What’s your small (or large!) success?

Ok, I'll bite. I had a heart attack on May 5 and I rode my bike 50 miles yesterday, and I'm fucking proud of myself.

Good friend of mine had a stroke riding his bike a month ago. Luckily quick medical attention and he seems likely to recover. Hopefully we'll enough to ride again. Have you gotten back in the saddle.

I do occasionally but not as much as I should.

Been a mental journey for sure. Hope your recovery is going well.

Ya. It was crazy. Came out of nowhere. Super fortunate in many ways. Especially having it happen ten minutes from one of the best cardiology centers in the world (UCSD).

Had my second interview today for a job job, which after five-and-a-half-years of working from home/remote freelance journalism work is a wild concept on its own, but only possible because I'll have eight years sober in a row come Thursday (free Slurpees for everyone to celebrate 7/11!)

We hiked a Texas State Park for the 3rd July 4th weekend in a row (becoming a thing now) & the only reason we cut it short was due to a shoe malfunction, not the excessive Texas heat.

That is really lovely! How did you make it?

It’s made of cut-up bits of glass that are fused together in a kiln. Like stained glass, but everything has to fit tightly together.
