Twenty minutes of fireflies in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, near the famous Elkmont campground. The yellow sparkles are Photinus carolinus, the synchronous fireflies that have become a tourism sensation, and the greenish trails are the more enigmatic "blue ghost" Phausis reticulata.

I remember people did this shit in Kansas so much.
They were all “we don’t turn our AC on until Memorial Day and it gets shut off on Labor Day” - just so they can brag about being miserable and struggling.
It became a misery competition.
We have ALWAYS used ours.
I completed a whole dinosaur-themed branding package for a software company that was accepted, paid for, and then just... Never was seen again. Baffling but it happens!
I've had clients scrap projects halfway through because the wind changed and they had to pivot to something else. The good clients will make sure you still get paid for the time spent, and I've been lucky so far in that regard.
