Junior Scholars: Project 2025 is now breaking through to public consciousness. The more people learn about it, the more they hate it. Now is a great time to search that website, go to the section of your expertise, and write an oped. Keep the drip of bad news for them coming, all the way to Nov.

“Since the COVID pandemic the concept of herd immunity was misappropriated. Dr. Jeimy’s point is extremely important: Herd immunity refers towidespread vaccination of a population and that, and only that, protects us.” Doctors selling “herd immunity via mass infection” are dangerous. Report them.
Reposting my measles article because measles is getting very frightening for many. Excellent information by experts about why measles is on the rise and how to protect those you love. #measles

If you read nothing else about Jews today, please read this. And please understand that to be a Jew in the USA right now does not = supporting authoritarians like the current PM of Israel. IMO #BibiIsBadForThe Jews and everyone else.

So much is true at once, it makes my head spin & heart break. Among them, insult Jews & I take it personally b/c I am a Jew. Insult Muslims & I take it personally, because Muslim & Jewish lives R intertwined. Also Bibi is Not Good For the Jews. ://www.lifeisasacredtext.com/a-lot-of-things-are-true/

It would have been easy for some of you to say “I support an end to the war in Gaza and a free Palestinian state, but some of the the things people are saying at rallies I attend are hateful bigotry that calls for violence against Jews including my students and neighbors, and I don’t support that.”

This is absolutely right. I had a formal autism diagnosis myself, and thought ABA was OK for my mostly non-speaking son. After listen to autistics younger than myself who actually went through ABA, I no longer think it is OK. Self-Advocacy>Compliance #TalkToABASurvivors
Did I think my young autistic son was enjoying ABA therapy at the time? Yes, I did. Did I understand, as a non-autistic person, how to know whether ABA was harming or helping him? No, I did not. Parents of newly diagnosed autistic kids, please listen to autistic adults—especially ABA survivors.

For those who need to hear this: mentally ill folks are fully capable of doing brave, heroic, caring, loving acts. Having a psychiatric disability doesn’t necessarily prevent you from being in solidarity with other human beings. Also, it’s fucked up to assume you know someone’s mental state.

“My experience of mansplaining is truly interdisciplinary. (Perhaps there is a grant I could apply for.)” —Professor Charlotte Lydia Riley Some magical day, after that grant proposal is written, I would SO love to read it. :)
I wrote something: “Male Historians Explain Things To Me: masculinity, expertise and the academy”. With a huge debt to Rebecca Solnit, Sara Ahmed, Siri Hustvedt, Professor Lucy Robinson and many other feminists before me. www.manchesterhive.com/display/9781...

Hey I have a question for trans folks (of any type) that are on HRT or who have had gender affirming surgeries! What do you wish your doctor had already known about trans folks socially that you had to explain to them? Reskeet for wider sample base please 💖

A year into starting TPGA it became clear that most of our perspectives were parent perspectives. We did have some autistic perspectives, but they were the minority. And autistic people rightfully said WTF. So we invited @autisticenough.bsky.social to be an editor—and thankfully she said yes. 4/

Even well-informed people fall for the myth that facilitated communication is a hoax. A contemporary understanding requires both a presumption of autistic communication competence and a close examination of current research, as presented in this excellent overview.
