I'm sorry, but how can I refer to the SCOTUS ruling as anything other than "legal-sounding stuff"? From a jurisprudential perspective, it's horseshit. It's without precedent, it's the opposite of all their pre-Jan 6 jurisprudence, and it's tailored exactly to maximize the benefit to Trump?

We're well past the point where "conspiracy" can be used as an insult. It's not a conspiracy to say that SCOTUS will use every power it has to get Trump into the White House. They invented an evidence rule out of whole cloth to protect Trump in his other criminal trials.
