Gonna steal this for here. I'm going with Earthbound. But they're not allowed to screw it up.

Honestly, BioShock because I think society needs one giant mainstream dunk on Ayn Rand
Avatar
Also I think the plasmids could be some pretty good AI silicon valley adoption commentary
Avatar
I couldn't get into the games but I liked the idea
Avatar
I think Netflix have the rights, and it's in pre-production at the moment.
Avatar
Please please please don't fuck it up. Please don't make it "Big Daddy cool" Please God, don't let them make it have Marvel dialogue
Avatar
My first thought was Zack Snyder is going to completely misunderstand it into an adaptation the most annoying people on the internet are going to champion for the next 15 years. 🙃
Avatar
Would you kindly make a cool tv series for Bioshock? Rapture would look awesome with some properly done effects.
Avatar
Mass Effect, and if you HAVE to have it be about Shepherd, obviously FemShep is canon. But something like the First Contact war when we pop out of the Charon mass relay and meet the Turians would be awesome.
Avatar
Came here to say this. 100% Mass Effect.
Avatar
I would love for a Mass Effect series
Avatar
Get REALLY meta and have Shepherd transition over the course of a season or three. 😁
Avatar
Too messy. You can't center it during any of the events of the three games, because so much of that story spooled out based upon player choices (like, far more than any other game). But if you make a prequel, then most of what makes "Mass Effect" won't be featured.
Avatar
I would love to see a good Half Life series.
Avatar
Oh my god, get the severance guys on it or make it a fincher thing or something. I could only dream
Avatar
He’ll, they could even finish the story!
Avatar
Man I would be seated. This is a pipe dream you've now infected me with... 😩 God it would be so good!!
Avatar
It’d get canceled after the second season
Avatar
They wouldn’t cancel it. They’d just put it on hiatus and never return.
Avatar
After two episodes of the second season, to be precise.
Avatar
okay, but who could they get to play--- oh.
Avatar
Honestly - young Bryan Cranston would be perfect.
Avatar
as long as gordon never says anything.
Avatar
there's actually so much you can work with in the half-life universe. you've got some conspiracy shit with the gman, got you some alien invasion stuff, some illicit science with aperture science, what is even the borealis about?! could be fun, but would have to be done right.
Avatar
I’ve considered putting together a TTRPG campaign based on the HL universe, but the trick is figuring out how to make it a group based story and keeping off the railroad tracks.
Avatar
Keeping games off of railroad tracks generally means not building any tracks. HL has a ton of potential for stories about more than one character at a time.
Avatar
True, I just need to develop more of the world, enough to open things up for a full party. I just haven’t put all of that together yet.
Avatar
i guess you gotta try to thread that needle opposing force and blue shift did. sounds interesting though. i say have at it.
Avatar
It’s on the list. Right now I’m running a Twilight 2000 campaign that has a weird horror / SF conspiracy behind the main campaign (party just discovered this last night)
Avatar
Plot twist at the end after lengthy origin story: G-Man is actually that guy from Skibidi Toilet
Avatar
"Oh man, I always wondered what his deal was"

Avatar
Avatar
Oh this would be very good.
Avatar
But as a procedural drama, a la X-Files. All of the non-verbal story telling in that game conveyed a beautifully bland and bureaucratic way of dealing with the bonkers extraordinary.
Avatar
A new Object of Power / Altered Item each week and slowly move into Alan Wake storylines in season 2.

Avatar
Like the movie ET, but 80% of it is ET falling in a hole.
Avatar
In the pilot they kill him with hammers I can tell you that much
Avatar
Perfect reference, lol!
Avatar
Avatar
isn't there already sort of in the form of several movies?
Avatar
They said not screw it up though
Avatar
There was an animated one I like anime and I like Deadspace but this failed to meet both marks..... It was a thing alright
Avatar
But ... Dead Space is itself a homage to Alien.
Avatar
There are some slight changes
Avatar
Not many! In fact, pretty sure BTS stuff like the art book and mini-docs talk about how they just copy-pasted the idea of the Nostromo. The threat is "necroMORPHS", and they're basically zombies instead of alien lifeforms (at first). Then they blended in submarine aesthetics.
Avatar
To your point, I’ve seen them talk mostly about Resident Evil in Space and Event Horizon. In which case, I still think they should be allowed to make a movie of it…
Avatar
Uh ... both of those movies did badly though. My point is that Dead Space itself is already an "adaption" of a movie into a videogame, and you're talking about adapting that videogame back into a movie / TV show ... what is the compelling new hook there? Alien: Romulus is coming, anyway.
