Things are weird and unpleasant in the news! I like to counterprogram my brain and looking at / processing photos does that for me, so hey, here are four photos of mine from my trip to Portugal. Please to enjoy. Or don't. I'm not your boss. I was, but they fired me for stealing office supplies.
We stayed near there a few years back, it wasn't until my son asked if we could go see where Julius Caesar was stabbed that I looked it up and was like, um, you remember those ruins with no sign and all the cats.... ?
They charge full ticket price to ride that one, and it only goes for about 30 seconds! Still worth it not to have to climb that hill though.
The trolleys are such a visual treat, I even went to the museum of trolleys
I was there in 2018. I recognize that cat! So much great street art there. I loved these three-D pieces in Lisbon. Had to get close to see they weren't just paintings.
I backpacked through Europe in 1989 and spent a week or so in Lagos, just hanging out on the beach and drinking beer in cheap expat dives at night and I still think about it all the time
We put this on our "need to see" list when we were in Porto last year. If you go, walk as far west as you can on the walkway next to the Douro; there are some restaurants out there with a lot of great, fresh fish. And green wine!
never been but friend of mine who went there once like a decade ago now tries to go back for every foreign vacay and claims its the most underrated destination in Europe and he is very very very enthu about the cuisine
Same, I have hundreds of door photos, mostly taken in Portugal, including the Açores, but also France, UK, and a small handful from Spain. I think it's difficult to visit/live in Europe and not become at least a little bit obsessed with the doors here.
