I think the best way to change the @nytimes.com is to cancel your subscription. They may pull their heads out of their ass (perhaps not, they seem quite firmly lodged) if they begin bleeding dollars.

One reason why a Parkinson’s expert might have visited the WH 8 times in 8 months is bc a big Parkinson’s bill just got passed and signed. But don’t let that little bit of fact get in the way of your shitty ableist rumor mongering, NYT
Breaking News: A Parkinson’s expert visited the White House eight times in eight months from last summer through this spring, according to official visitor logs. The administration has said that President Biden has no signs of the disease.

Reminder folks, the polling data had Romney even, and slightly ahead of Obama in October(!) I don't remember the cries for Obama to step aside or down at that point. Sorry 538, not here for your vibe clicks. (Obama went on to win comfortably)
This is an incredible take considering Hillary Clinton's lowest lead in these same spots in July was 6 points

hey someone did both the tweet and the article blurb right
President Biden and other Democrats are increasingly focusing their attacks on an aggressive right-wing agenda called Project 2025 that is being pushed by allies of presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump — prompting Trump and his team to lash out in recent days at supporters of the effort.

This. If every work of an artist contains the same theme or element (I don't mean variations, I mean the same) over and over again, I do think it likely is saying something.
I think this is basically true, but I think there's a corrollary that shitty art *is* often legitimately and inadvertantly revealing of the author's character - e.g. THE ROOM (2003) being a completely on-the-nose rendering of Tommy Wiseau's own ego and insecurities.

The key here is that the far left decided they’d biggest enemy was the fascists, not the center-left. Hoping we can learn the same lesson here.
Well France apparently just collabed between everyone else to kick a far right party out of the chance to take power, it can be done if enough people want it to be, folks

This is a subtweet about Frankenstein because I don't want to be a dick, but I also want some facts out there. 1. Most novels at the time were anonymous. We can't make definite judgements about why Mary Shelley's name wasn't on it. It was common practice. The novel was barely respectable. 1/?

Really enjoyed this review: as someone who grew up after the fact, I hadn't connected how those two were essentially one after the other and in communication with one another. Makes a lot of sense.

The thing that's obvious to everyone and that nobody can actually write in the press is that the American (and yes, I'm sure elsewhere too) right wing is led by bad people and the object is to make more people extremely bad in basically every respect. It's anti-society

NY Times: You thought this election might be about an unprecedented convicted criminal running to overthrow Constitutional democracy? You think you decide the narrative? Oh no. That’s our turf. And we say the most important thing in the election—nay, the world—is Joe Biden’s age.

As a side note, this is John McEntee, Trump's Director of White House Personnel and the primary architect of Project 2025. On Tik Tok he said he gives counterfeit bills to homeless people so they will be arrested when they go to spend them.

This is a of a piece with climate change and the last two decades of political coverage. The need to describe both sides results in reporting that places them on level footing and too often, actually elevates the side most divorced from reality.

The article says that Biden wasn't "old" (aka displaying these new symptoms) in 2023, but a review of @washingtonpost.com 2023 Biden articles definitely has him as being too old for the job then. So which is it? If you were wrong last year, why should we believe you now?
President Biden, who at 81 is the oldest person ever to hold the office, has displayed signs of accelerated aging in recent months, said numerous aides, foreign officials, members of Congress and others who interacted with Biden over the last 3½ years.
Biden’s aging is seen as accelerating, lapses described as more commonwapo.st Aides, foreign leaders, donors and members of Congress say Biden has seemed slower and more often loses his train of thought in recent months, though close aides insist he remains mentally sharp

Nothing more patriotic than cancelling your NYT subscription and using that money to support local press, candidates, etc.

i was just going to make a post about this. if trump decides you are an enemy of the state or a “threat to national security” and has you deported, citizenship or not, there’s nothing you can do to get home. he has full legal power to render you stateless.
Related, if trump is summarily deporting citizens under his new mass deportation regime, citizenship and an ability to appeal to the law isn’t going to get people back in the country. The executive runs border security
