Not often folks get to say this โฆ but today I met one of my heroes and gave a talk on my PhD research at the pulsar timing conference, in front of her.
This absolute legend is a wonderfully warm human, and changed our understanding of the Universe forever with her discovery in 1967.

Personally, I feel my talk could have been a little better as nerves got to me and I went blank when someone asked me a question - but Iโve had many great conversations with pulsar astronomers who are really interested in our results and already set up some collabs!
100% this. In our short conversation she told me that our DEI efforts for our collab are an excellent step forward, complimented me on my progress and wished me luck for my talk. Just an extremely good example of a human that walks amongst us.
