Such an underrated aspect of this is that the school year is almost over. The problem (as the admins see it) could potentially solve itself in the short term and no cops would be needed.

Great read! President of our uni called cops on students and faculty literally weeks after losing a no-contest vote by the faculty by over 90 fucking percent. Faculty have no control over the leadership- just the crustaceans on the board. Can’t wait to leave this university. And this state.

It sucks that there seems to be no real recourse when it comes to leadership like this, let alone the goons carrying out their vision, but at least they know that no one actually respects them anymore.

Im just tired of this story. Seriously. Jarl Mohn killed npr to make a podcast media property, hoping the bullies wouldnt take his lunch money. NYT is navel gazing IMO, for drama. If the eic is playing coverage games for revenge, they lost their way. Trumps their reality show.

Jarl is not who I'd blame - to his credit the financial cushion he built got npr thru pandemic without layoffs (until now). But you're absolutely right the podcast adventuring was a lot of money and talent that's now gone.
