Went to a clinic today for a routine medical thing and was once again amazed by the number of people who are happy to hang out and just freely breathe in all the air juice inside the germ emporium

Suggest: asking re air quality when you're concerned. Quality in many places is much better than I've thought on first impression. Also: CO2 meter for <$100 gives a v good indication of air quality. For a medical office, good to ask re their patient instructions re resp infections & masks.

I carry an Aranet4. The clinic the other day had CO2 of around 1300-1400

Good that you're on top of! That's v bad quality. They need to know! Though they may listen to fools like me, knowing I consult in occupational health.

My previously (pre-pandemic) favorite cafe has CO2 levels regularly above 2500 ppm and PM 2.5 levels of around 200 micrograms per cubic meter. I sent them all the data I had last year but nothing has changed. (They painted the walls nicely though.)

We were in a restaurant that measured 550. I pointed it out to the server, explained how good that was and how CO2 was an indicator of how much the air is rebreathed. She was mildly interested, just said “we have the ventilators on high because of the kitchen“ Moral: eat at places that fry a lot

Best restaurant air I’ve seen was in a hot pot restaurant

Hibachi places are good for that too. Those overhead vents suck a LOT of air while cooking.

Large museums also typically have good air They have to manage crowd-caused humidity and such to protect their holdings

Ooo…a new one just opened up within walking distance of the house. Hmm…

If you can see the air, there's something wrong with it... :)
