Finally catching up on Scarlet Witch, I think my favorite thing about it is @thesteveorlando.bsky.social and the artists show that there's power in grace.
I hate the mentality of telling people that the work they rely on to survive is “not a real job.” Creative work is simultaneously undervalued and everywhere. It brightens our lives but isn’t considered worth paying for. Because a “real” job needs to be too miserable or pointless to romanticise.
One day I'll wrap my head around the resentment people feel toward writers and artists. I think it's complex and there's no one reason it persists. I do think a lot of people hold art in their heads as a thing they'd RATHER be doing than their current jobs.
CAPTAIN AMERICA #750 is out now. Happy to have made a small contribution to this celebration of one of my favorite characters. Writing Steve Rogers again was like having a reunion with an old and dear friend. Sara Pichelli's gorgeous art was the icing on the birthday cake.
