He loved the natural world, and I'm glad to have read his work when it was new. Here's a very short story he did with Steve Bissette and Alan Moore in his indie series with Stephen Murphy, Puma Blues. Drew Ford, also late, also unfairly, convinced Dover to reprint the series with a new final story.

"Project 2025 is not targeting “pornography” as something that’s harmful to children per se, but rather redefining anything concerning sexuality and gender that they say is harmful to children *as* pornography." - @melissagiragrant.com
Project 2025 includes the call to “outlaw” porn. If you want to understand what they mean by that? Look to what these groups are already fighting “porn,” and their connections to anti-gender movements outside the US. I start that analysis here:
The Real Targets of Project 2025’s War on Pornnewrepublic.com It’s not people watching porn online. It’s drag queens, trans people, LGBTQ library books, and more.

Michael Zulli's wife has announced that he died on Monday. His contributions to "The Sandman" are utterly indelible. His work was so lush and detailed, but it cut to the heart of whatever he drew, which was often something that would have been either sillier or more serious in different hands. 1/2

Gathered at the bedside to endure the agonizingly long but #sacred moment between one breath and the next. The grandeur and foolishness inherent in the art of death. We like to think we will exit gracefully if we are only granted a peaceful ending but dying is a messy business. Embrace it. #whistpr

The trick is to learn to #float just above the surface. It is vital that you touch nothing and nothing touches you. I am imperfect at this talent as of yet, but every day, I am practicing my art. Soon, I will be a haunting beyond compare. #whistpr

Google’s emissions are up 48% in 5 years. Microsoft’s are up 30% since 2020. Those soaring figures are being driven by mass investments in data centers to power AI tools. Generative AI is a climate disaster and data center expansion must be stopped.

As a side note, this is John McEntee, Trump's Director of White House Personnel and the primary architect of Project 2025. On Tik Tok he said he gives counterfeit bills to homeless people so they will be arrested when they go to spend them.

The year is 2025. That guy in your creative writing seminar who was WAY into "American Psycho" in a disturbingly unironic way is now running the Department of the Interior

It will be difficult to measure how well an AI "professor" is doing helping students learn. It's difficult to measure how well a human professor is doing at that. An AI system will get really good student evaluations though. So helpful! So available! So friendly! That's what gets us in the end.

Yup. As a teaching librarian, one of the most important tools in my arsenal is the question, "Where have you already looked and what methods have you used?" Otherwise, I'm just assuming things like baseline knowledge of resources and tools available. 1/x
As a chem TA, one of the most valuable things I ever did with struggling students in office hours was have them narrate for me how they would solve a problem, and then figure out what it was they weren’t getting. That’s how you get the lightbulb moments.

One of the least nuanced assumptions in US political discourse is that folks who have served or are related to people who have served are patriotic or pro-military. The collective memory and personal experiences of Black, indigenous, and other vets of color makes that way more complicated.

The robot is not a bargaining unit member and must not be given bargaining unit work. Faculty unions should be looking over their contracts right now, figuring out exactly how to grieve or otherwise oppose the introduction of these systems.
