Surprised by how much the SNP lost

I’m not super versed in UK politics, but hasn’t the SNP had a ton of scandals recently?

Yeah, just didn’t expect them to lose 3/4

The Lib Dems are strong in Scotland so there's a lot of 4-way races. And this seems in line with prior polling.

Also, this being the UK, part of the story is that the SNP has TERF and pro-trans rights wings, and the former getting the upper hand has alienated the Scottish Greens and others on the left.

My impression is that they basically entirely collapsed in ways that were mostly self-inflicted and boil down to "Don't you want a free Scotland?! Wait, what do you mean you want a free Scotland *with politics meaningfully different than England's?*"

Kind of like how I always felt that Labor wound itself up the political woods for years following Brexit: If you want to be an effective opposition party, you have to present yourself with policies that are IN OPPOSITION TO WHOM YOU'RE RUNNING AGAINST!

Definitely a few people I know who would usually auto-X the SNP box have had a rethink is recent months.
