I remember standing in a Waldenbooks leafing through a guide trying to figure out what to do next.
Turns out the monitor I played Myst on had the brightness see too low, and I couldn't see a button that unlocked the next puzzle
I beat Riven, did I use a walkthrough?
Look, let’s not focus on the past, the important thing is that Riven was beaten.
Also the monkey puzzle in Myst IV was worse but by that point only die hard fans were playing.
I have a love that is definitely nostalgia based from when Myst was amazing high fidelity graphics. I think GoG do a complete saga bundle. I never did finish Myst V mind, wonder if I can find the disc
Beat Riven but that was the only one I managed. Absolutely adored the book series too as a kid!
Spoiler:
Loved that one of the puzzles was to remember that you'd been to an abandoned preschool and needed to go back there to learn a fucking alien language
Also beat Riven! 🙋🏽♀️
In fact, I played Riven before Myst, which made Myst easier. I'm actually planning on doing a nostalgic play through of the latest remake of Myst as soon as I'm finished Obduction. I wanna see how it compares, it looks super pretty 😍
