I think it's funny that most power generation is just different ways to boil water into steam

I think it’s funny that something like 2/3rds of the input energy exits the system as waste heat when we make electric this way.

For me it’s the electric motor more than just electricity. We spent a hundred years where the only thing we knew how to do with electricity was shock people and things. Converting it to motion and work was the breakthrough.
