I think we’re going to see true chaos. The states will now diverge even more wildly on a host of matters. The supremes will start invoking the interstate commerce clause with wild abandon. That will encourage yet more balkanization. Someone said we’re heading towards Holy Roman Empire territory. Yup
I'm from the Electorate of the Fifth Circuit, well, technically its an ecclesiastical principate under the Elector's authority held in trust and stewarded by the Great Folks at John Eagle Honda
I can't possibly understand the Holy Roman Empire, tis too complex and overlapping!
Not to do a quick check on how zoning regulations happen in my neighborhood, which I'm sure will be a simple affair
Every can of beans is going to have a 9 foot long product label.
This product is known to the state of California to cause cancer. This product is known to the state of Florida to be too woke. This product is known to the state of Texas to not adhere to the ten commandments.
Amazon already blocks X from being shipped to Y states for reasons like the above.
X and Y will go exponential.
And we’re not even talking about distribution centers in states that aren’t allowed to buy X.
Nor the trucking companies who now have to question what they haul and what route.
I want to be wrong about this, but I think we've just started a timer on a major nuclear plant disaster. There are some states that will just refuse to decommission their aging reactors because "I ain't gonna let the gubmint tell me what to do!"
I have a friend who argues that the fall of the American Empire will be by our own balkanization and not by any type of warfare.
(As a Californian, I'm here for that!)
