The New Yorker crossword isn’t as good because it’s not made by a Hoosier but it’s generally harder which I appreciate. Not that their politics writers are infallible but I had a hard time giving NYT money

I was gonna suggest Archive dot PH. The various archive sites deal with probably 90% of paywalls and definitely the Times’. Also great for reading the trash at The Atlantic. Dumped it earlier this year and haven’t looked back. I’m sure Maggie Haberman is thrilled at the idea of Trump back in office

You can do the crossword for free on the Seattle Times website, but it’s like a month offset (ie today you can do June 1st’s puzzle)
