I’m rather pissed about it. As a GenX kid we were scared shitless about premarital sex and teen sex. Now the very same people who would have said that to me are like take a teen wife!

I'm 38 years old and still struggling with this. Can't tell if I made myself asexual by internalizing celibacy, or considered myself celibate in my youth because I was asexual and didn't know that was a thing.
my preteens are getting the message "wait until marriage (immediately after HS) and then have as many kids as possible" at catholic school. they're not having it.

I was truly astounded when I realized just how many of my parents' high school classmates got married before they graduated because of THIS EXACT THING.
