When I feel like a project is ready to go out on submission, I start researching where things are and where to send queries. But I don’t generally keep track of all the changes in the industry. If I tried to do that, I wouldn’t have time to write. #kidlitchat

Anthropologist here to confirm that for most of human history people worked less than we imagine today. It’s a signal failure of my discipline that we make our current situation seem normal.

I have a day job that involves writing a ton of emails. Does that count? :/ #kidlitchat

I find that switching off the Wi-Fi router for a couple of hours buys me time I’d forgotten that I have. It takes a little while for the router to boot back up, so I can’t immediately respond to an impulse to google something or check for responses on social media. #kidlitchat
