Trump's distancing himself from Project 2025 is pretty meaningless. He'll install his loyalists to run the show and then spend his four years in Executive Time. I really think people need to talk more about who's going to be doing the executive work for either of these candidates.

Given that many voters aren't really paying close attention and didn't watch the debate, how do those advocating for replacing Biden plan to frame and explain the sudden appearance of a new person atop the ticket to them? The Republicans won't leave that discursive space open.

The Declaration of Independence was a series of grievances the colonists enumerated against King George III. The colonists wrote the document explaining why they were breaking away. There are a few line items having to do with colonial dissatisfaction with migration policies. (1/12)

Since this is an important day in US civic religion, let's review these holy verses condemning King George:

A few common terms/expressions that derive from using horses as transportation: harnessed bridled deep seated steady hand rein in hot (as in volatile/nervy) long in the tooth (also gift horse expressions--if you look a gift horse in the mouth, you'll realize it's old)

I need to develop this more systematically but I think a good way of understanding the Roberts Court is to think about the opinions and concurrence as purposively establishing incentive structures for other people/institutions.
