Yeah I loved the way it looked and the fight scenes were cool! It just felt kinda male-gazey to me, and I was having a hard time following the story. I feel like I probably would have appreciated it more if I had played any of Cyberpunk 2077 beforehand

Speaking of must-watch Netflix animated shows: PLUTO. Holy crap. It’s like VIOLET EVERGARDEN with robots and a hardboiled detective vibe. Only one episode in and I’m already hooked. How is this the first I’m hearing of this show??

Watch SCAVENGERS REIGN. Watch CAROL AND THE END OF THE WORLD. Watch BLUE EYE SAMURAI. Watch PLUTO. Netflix needs to understand that *original animated series for YA/adults* have value beyond raunchy comedy. There IS an audience for it. They’ll keep canceling them unless they see those numbers.

It's because we all have day jobs, advances are pennies, publishers don't market, one underperforming book tanks your career, and we're expected to be well-tuned brand machines on social media websites designed to suck our souls dry.

Man, I really wanted to love CYBERPUNK EDGERUNNERS. Just didn’t quite land. Tbh the best part of it was Studio Trigger animating w/ all the high-octane flash and stylish chaos you’d expect. It’s Trigger at its Triggerest. (I’m a few years late to all the netflix animated show discourse haha)

Being invisible won't help, no. We don't live in a meritocracy. Extremely talented individuals who do zero marketing aren't elegant mysteries, they're just invisible.

This is what makes me wonder if it's worth it at all. Is it better to have absolutely no web presence and be an elegant mystery??

Ohhhh yeah there’s quite a bit of body horror and gore. I would give the first episode a shot—it’s a decent barometer for how intense it gets thru the show, and you can decide what you can handle from there!
