It is good and normal for Joe Biden to sleep like an 81-year old, and he's a better president 6 hours a day than Trump was for the 17 minutes a day that he paid attention to anything and the other 12 hours that he was awake doing stupid crap. But still, "needs more sleep" is a disastrous message.

Easy to forget how heavy books are, but you remember clearly when you have to transport them!

I wonder if the folks in the DNC who pushed for an early debate did so because they wanted this out early. But I may be attributing too much competence.

It's crazy how government agencies are allowed and encouraged to create situations which would be a crime if anyone else did it, and if they get caught they end up settling in court and doing it again. Also ICE crackdowns are highly unethical if you have been followed them.

It really is a weird symmetry that this year the UK elections are the 4th of July and the US elections are the 5th of November.

Why I Don't Vote (OK, I Do Vote, but I Would Like to Discourage You, NY Times Reader, For Doing So For Some Reason) Via @bubbaprog.ilovecitr.us
Man, if it turns out that the right winger telling NY Times readers that they should follow his example and not vote did in fact vote in the last two elections, the Times should add this to the piece. Better than a retraction, since it illustrates a willful hypocrisy.

This is bonkers - it’s like draining an iPhone battery each search. (iPhone battery is between 3 and 4 amp hours at 3.8 volts, so about 12 watt hours total)

He could be doing several interviews (live or not) each day to talk about the dangers of the right-wing Supreme Court!
or... focus them on the hugely consequential things they're ignoring? somehow.

"The media isn't fair" is always a tedious complaint. Of course they aren't. *Ironically and unironically* Did you just fall out of a coconut tree? But, seriously, if you want them to change topic, give them something new! Show them why they're wrong!

The mainstream media is not demanding Biden demonstrate fitness. It's Biden and his aides themselves who are saying it! They are translating questions about biden's electability into actionable items like making good speeches.
Breaking news: President Biden and his senior team said they accepted the grim ultimatum they’ve been hearing from almost all quarters of the Democratic Party — to demonstrate his fitness for office or face a significant effort to force him to step aside.
Biden and aides concede he needs to quickly demonstrate his fitness for officewww.washingtonpost.com Critics have been shaken by his relative inaction to directly address the panic ignited by his halting debate performance last Thursday.

Lotta irony in British folks voting to kick out the Tories on the Fourth of July, three days after the Supreme Court made the US presidency a monarchy. That being said, kick out those Tories, friends.

Under the pretext of "protecting archaeological sites", and contrary to the Oslo accords, the Israeli govt effectively revoked Palestinian planning in Area B (22% of the West Bank). Israel already has full planning control over Area C (60%), leaving Palestinians with only 18% of West Bank (Area A).
