Out of nowhere, a REALLY good day has appeared. I am thinking of going to bed now so the cosmos has no chance to screw it up.

Former President Donald Trump narrowly avoided death after being shot in the ear during a campaign rally, with one spectator killed and two critically injured. What do you think? www.theonion.com/nation-rocke...

The term “Lord” comes from the Old English “hlāford” - which means “loaf warden” or “bread keeper” and was a fairly literal title given to chieftains responsible for providing food to their followers. Anyway, all Sith Lords are bakers and the Dark Side is actually just gluten.

I am irrationally annoyed to learn that - canonically - Bazooka Joe has 20/20 vision in both eyes and just wears the eyepatch to look cool.

JD Vance is such a bad choice for VP that I have experienced a minor flutter of happiness for the first time in weeks.

At this point, I must insist that the DNC hand full control over to Kendrick Lamar. Let him plan the convention. Let him pick/be the nominee. He has the juice. He has the support. Let him fix all of this for you.

WSJ this morning. lol at the last bit. "Leaders on both sides need to stop describing the stakes of the election in apocalyptic terms. Democracy won't end if one or the other candidate is elected. Fascism is not aborning if Mr. Trump wins, unless you have little faith in American institutions."

Noticed what I believe is a tree swallow making regular trips into one of our trees out front, which then helped me notice the well-hidden nest high up in the tree. I took a quick shot (blindly) when she flew off and… WE HAVE BABIEEEES.

On the plus side, we don’t have to waste any more time arguing about whether or not Biden should step aside.

I'd heard good things about this film from a bunch of folks previously and they were right! If you enjoy folk horror, this will delight you. It's one of those rare films where you want to rewatch it immediately - not because it was confusing, but because the ending fully remakes the whole thing.

Walked into a store this morning, saw this and got sad. It’s such a depressing testimony to our inability to address any serious problems. It’s been 25 years since Columbine and the best we’ve been able to do is force school kids into a doomed and invasive backpack panopticon.

Many years ago, someone gave this to me on a blind date because she had been told by a mutual friend that I “like computers”. I was always amused by the wild variations in the complexity of topics it tried to cover.

I encountered Ton Loc’s “Funky Cold Medina” playing at the grocery store yesterday, which is probably the first time I’ve heard it since middle school. I’m not 100% sure what 11 year old me THOUGHT it was about at the time, but that is one troubling pop song.

On Friday the 12th, you are only permitted to watch “Jason X”. Sorry, but I don’t make the rules.

It’s hard to argue that the Founders had any notable objections to people exploding and/or going blind.

I am reiterating my request that we just hand control of Biden’s campaign over to Kendrick Lamar.

“The Acolyte” is messy and frustrating and VERY uneven, but it DID give me a reason to turn toward my spouse after the latest episode and unironically ask: “Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise?” So there’s that.

*me, standing at the mouth of a cave, addressing the feral children of our tribe some time in 2035* “This were a BLUEY RAY. They word it ‘Planet Earth’. And they says ‘We don't need the streaming. We can watch it here.’ Now does anyone have an HDMI cable?” *Reed Hastings throws dynamite at us*
Friends thought I was insane for going back to physical media.

The line between “sentimental” and “hoarder” is WAY too blurry. I need to know if my family will be touched or horrified when they open these five storage lockers after I am eaten by a bear.

Also in the box of random stuff from high school is a page of the “WOMBATECH” bootleg RPG we made that was just Palladium’s Robotech, but everyone was a wombat.

Found this in an old box of mementos from highschool. Harvey lived in a loft above a junk shop in town where he made art and ghost hunting equipment of his own invention. He was awkward and odd and fun to talk to. I remember thinking he was old, but I’m older now than he was when he passed away.
