Oh yes. If they had scheduled float and on call staff just for this contingency they would have to pay them. Hell, even scheduling more than the absolute bare bones is wasteful because there might be times that the staff AREN’T racing to complete tasks

When it got really bad during the surge of Dec 2021/Jan 2022 they told staff to come back without any isolation period—unless they were vomiting or had diarrhea or a fever. You have no idea how many ppl were forced to work while very sick & actively contagious. The numbers are shocking.

it's absolutely infuriating. i'm glad to be mostly remote but i am going to use all of my remaining sick leave and then insist on working full remote temporarily. fucking awful there's no more federal covid leave UGH

Want to hear something fuck up? Our policy: if you are too sick to work, stay at home (which takes your sick days) and when you are not too sick, go to work. Positive or not. You can just come with a mask

seems to be former but from the covid related policy emails i got, it was strongly suggested to schedule when i can return. thankfully i know my boss is chill but still!

i remember when restaurants/retail were telling people to stay home if they weren’t feeling well, and i thought we finally turned a corner on this workplace behavior. now you got managers telling people not to test, so they can keep on working.

Still is. COVID never left, even though most people don't care anymore. It's sad how many people would rather die and endanger their loved ones than take simple, common-sense measures to protect everyone.
