This was tons of fun to watch and looks like it was tons of fun to make! I have a ton of empathy for the lyrics, too.
Here it is! The official premiere of The Linebreakers new music video. A parody of Adele's Rolling in the Deep, but for us developers who struggle with constantly changing project requirements. youtu.be/iHyax4vXxls?...
Fight the Feature Creepyoutu.be Music: "Rolling in the Deep" by Adele Adkins and Paul Epworth. Performed by The Linebreakers Heather Downing: vocals Hannes Lowette: guitar Mark Rendle: bass Vagif Abilov: keys Dylan Beattie: everything else Camera: Magnus Kristiansen Special thanks to @NDC Conferences Lyrics: There's a requirement, on top of my stack, Seeking enlightenment, I message you on Slack, I don't see why we're waiting to go live Our funding ran out months ago, we're struggling to survive Nobody needs all this shit you're specifying Developers are burning out, the CFO is crying All these requirements, sat here on my stack, No way we'll ship them all while we're still in the black The project backlog’s a hundred miles long, You keep on saying, we’ve gotta have it all, The project backlog’s a hundred miles long, I can’t help thinking… We ought to cut ‘em all (haven't got a clue, what is MVP) Fight the feature creep, (like a waterfall, features gonna creep) Right from the start we tried, had a plan (haven't got a clue, what is MVP) But you say it’s incomplete (like a waterfall, features gonna creep) Maybe I don't know what we should have done, But our nearest competitor just shipped their version 1, It doesn't run on blockchain, scan Facebook for your friends They hit a million signups in their opening weekend, The project backlog’s a hundred miles long, (haven't got a clue, what is MVP) You keep on saying, we’ve gotta have it all, (like a waterfall, features gonna creep) The project backlog’s a hundred miles long, (haven't got a clue, what is MVP) I can’t help thinking... (like a waterfall, features gonna creep) We ought to cut ’em all (haven't got a clue, what is MVP) Fight the feature creep, (like a waterfall, features gonna creep) Right from the start we tried, had a plan (haven't got a clue, what is MVP) But you say it’s incomplete (like a waterfall, features gonna creep) We ought to cut ’em all Fight the feature creep, Right from the start we tried, had a plan But you say it’s incomplete Cut your road map, cut it to the bone Nobody cares if we run on Windows Phone Nobody’s buying, the vision that you sold, Maybe time to pick up the agile manifesto

Over on Instagram I liked a few posts from the makeup artist for Civil War (2024) and today I’m getting ads for Posh Spice’s makeup line

One of the most fascinating and engaging shows I’ve seen in a long time. Also note it has Cronenberg-level body horror, and even though it’s a cartoon sometimes that’s a *lot* to deal with.

I made this Pride flag using only NASA images and our team thought it would be cool to share on social (I work on the NASA heliophysics communications team), but it's getting all sorts of hate on the bird app and Fbook. Thought y'all might be more appreciative of it here. ☺️🏳️‍🌈💖

This is the most IYKYK post I’ve ever made on BSky and it makes me sad that it has zero engagement.

The first hour of Rebel Moon II is just slow-motion wheat harvesting. It’s Zack Snyder’s Farmville. I expected to hate it going in and it somehow was worse than I expected.

I also hate Spotify and am obsessed with this movie but I use Amazon Music so music.amazon.com/user-playlis... Note: this playlist has the Springsteen cover of Suicide’s Dream Baby Dream as well as the original, because I think the comparison adds to the impact of the scene that uses the song.

I second this emotion. I am not a Podcast Person™️ but this is my go-to for both conversations about sci-fi and political science but also a large part of my movie and TV show backlog comes from the hosts and patrons. www.thenation.space
I haven't mentioned this in while but if you are in the market for a new podcast, may I recommend Space the Nation? Smart grownups talking about sci-fi, and the Patrons-only Discord is a simply fantastic community. We've been going deep on Civil War this week.

Lots of posts here about Civil War slamming it for "both-sideism" or for being "deliberately disinterested" in the politics. Being not about the causes of the conflict is different than being deliberately disinterested. Causes are political; effects are visceral. Civil War is about the effects.
