I do like that there's so much mainstream trans m/m romance nowadays, but I also feel like that's all there is? And people act like it's so progressive - trans AND gay? double diversity! - but when was the last time you saw a trans m/f romance/romantic subplot?

I suspect the problem is that trans m/f is hard to market, too "straight" for the gays and too queer for the straights. I hope the problem is not that the m/m straight ladies have an easier time blorbo-ing trans guys. Lots of it is trans authored, but when you factor in marketing and publishing...

I'm only a casual visitor to Romancelandia so I'm sure someone else out there has more developed thoughts on writers claiming "everyone deserves love!" producing a relative diversity of (female) protagonists while still favoring thin/pale/abled/affluent (male) love interests

I like it! Like, I get that insta-traction is a convention of the genre, but I still usually roll my eyes at that part. I'm way into the idea of a romance that doesn't have a "pause for three paragraphs to describe how hot and horny everyone is" the second they meet!

The problem with weaving is that the tutorials I've found all tell you what the yarn should do, which is the easy part, everyone knows how weaving works. What I don't understand is what my body should do. Knit/crochet tutorials always tell you what to do with your hands. Weaving tutorials do not.

Have finally settled on the phrasing "Is this how you want your name on your account?" when signing people up for library cards with an ID. And it's been interesting how many seemingly cis ppl say "actually use my nickname" or "don't use my middle name" bc preferred names are for everyone.
