Election thoughts, then and now. Friday 2nd May 1997, I found myself on an early morning train from Bristol to London. I was working in a comic store chain and a friend had engineered a trip up to visit him at the head office. This had been booked months before the 97 election was called. -1

Veggie chilli tonight. Weak as hell chillies though so have bolstered with chipotle flakes. There's enough to do air fryer 'chimichangas' over the weekend too. Yumsk.

This is where I have a small, boring bit of advice, from my time managing a customer contact centre for a central government department: write letters to your MP asking them to raise issues with secretaries of state; make the letters unique, not copy-and-paste campaigns; be direct, not cranky.

So how do we stand up and make a government take notice? Writing to your MP? I mean… It’s nice when they reply but it feels ineffectual. Mass mobilisation? Cool story bro, but unlikely. No revolts please, we’re British. How do we become the prick it’s hard to kick against? I’ve no idea. -11

Honestly think that Keir's trans comments are one of the worst political blunders of all time. It's too late to affect this election, but he's immediately put himself in a dilemma. EIther wage a sickening war on trans people, or spend five years being called a misogynist groomer by the Rowlingites
