No, so long as you pay the £500 deposit you can stand and dress in any way you see fit. If they fail to gain 5% of vote they forfeit the deposit. 1 1 7

Anyone can take part in elections, you just need to pay a deposit, and if you get below a certain number of votes you don't get it back. You don't have to belong to an official party or anything. So you can campaign on a single issue like opposing a road being built. 1 3
