It’s a very pretty plate but I’m kind meh on the dish. I added some lemon juice which gave it a little more zing 4 1 11
i can no longer count the number of nyt recipes that came out pretty but flat, it's def a thing 1 4
Yeah they are not my favorite source for recipes but occasionally I’m like oh hmmm maybe this one 1 3
what would life even be if you didn't buy extra things for a fancy nyt recipe that somehow managed not to taste like anything at all, how would you know you were alive lol 2
It does look amazing! But I suppose I’ll scratch it off my grocery list for today 1 2
Do you think more spice/peppers along with the citrus would save it? 1 2
Yes. And I think the parsley and basil I got were kind of shitty. It was all very one note. But I think I can riff on it and make it amazing 2 2
It should be a flavor bomb and it just wasn’t. Also think next time I’d dice the onions, use less olive oil, throw some crushed red pepper in there, more citrus, etc 1 3
Yeah, I’m gonna add some pickled peppers and citrus to punch through the olive oil. And I like the idea of red pepper for the textural element too 1 3
I kind of wish I just had a bowl of crispy gnocchi to snack on like popcorn lol 1 5

Maybe I’ll pull it back on the grocery list but do some peppers that I’ll pickle, and some lemon for brightness 1 1
I also think (just my preference) I’d prefer a mix of roasted and raw tomatoes. The textures were just all a little wonky 2
hmm a little take on panzanella maybe? 1 1
