I'm a childless cat lady because I will never be able to afford adoption*. But if I ask for circumstances to change so I could, I get called greedy or a freeloader. So what do these people want? *Ethically. I can't stress this enough. I'm consistently reading on how to do so.

As is, I can barely afford ME. I have no space in my home for a kiddo. So... they'll shame you for not being a mom, then shame you for not having the money to properly care for a child. The cruelty can't win of the paradox is the whole point.

I know I haven't been the most sociable the past few months, as a combination of depression, financial stress, general stress, and workworkworkworkworkworkwork. Things seem to be back on track now, though. I appreciate my friends understanding. I love you and it isn't personal.

Mostly going the Stacy Abrams route and encouraging people to vote/educating Texans on voter suppression. I think it's a good role for him.

I touched a word I didn't understand in a paper book because of my digital book muscle memory for looking up definitions. Oh no I'm a punchline in a boomer comic.

I've been working on some businessy related stuff lately. I'm realizing how difficult it is to make a 5-year plan when you've previously been laid off 3 times in 7 years and lost tens of thousands of dollars worth of work to plagiarism bots. The only viable plan is flexibility.

I feel like this dovetails a lot with my baby brother's investment advice. I usually ask him about the latest trends in layman's terms since he has a master's in finance and knows his shit. He told me the best investment is always myself. Education and equipment, specifically.

The '90s were a dark time. But an unintentionally hilarious time.

Last night I got hit with the desire to watch the 1998 Godzilla movie, which I didn't because I needed to work. But I admit to a soft spot for it because of how unabashedly silly it is. I like silly.

My friend gave me the fennel bulbs she got from her produce surprise box and I was so excited for everything I could make with them but HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I ate them before I could.
