Might be a bit of a hot take considering, but if I've learned anything in my useless life, it's that humans and society both aren't built for sustained trauma/stress. And, it's not weak or ignorant to celebrate even small wins. Or to find hope how you can. It's necessary for survival, actually.

This is exactly why I try to openly recommend new books/comics and boost fellow authors and artists as often as I can. The algorithm won’t help us share our own stories. So we must help share each other’s stories instead, and raise that tide for all of us.

Twitter didn't help me much, in terms of sales. I've made connections but my following is too small and my online presence too. I've been jealous of kickstarter campaigns because it rallies support online, gaining traction as the campaign goes on. Finished books, otoh, are hard to move.
