It's worth looking doing social threat modeling here to look at other mitigations as well. Here's what I came up with when I looked at dogpiling about 18 months ago. Deactivating is an extreme version of "shields up", but there might well be less-extreme options that are effective and implementable.

We might be at a point soon where Mastodon has controls for who can quote you and Bluesky has controls for who can reply, and apparently neither of them recognize that this is the same feature

Unfortunately, people can still quote the skeet, so I don't know what we're even doing here. I truly do not care what anybody has to say about Midsommar anymore. We did all the discourse, okay???????

Strongly agreed with this thread. Fascinating to me that fedi requires a certain decoupling of the server model to grow, while atproto probably needs to move towards a server/cluster-model to a certain extend to grow further

Hot (naive?) takes about labelers: * They're main problem is being vulnerable to self-fulfilling prophecy. "They can't work" becomes true if enough believe it. * Non-trivial moderation stances/cultures will succeed in a form closer to fedi-style instances, comprising custom AppViews &/or PDSs 1/
