I've been following some of the Gamestop meme nonsense, and this is also a theme there - that the CEO Ryah Cohen is genuinely interested in the investors and will make sure that they never actually lose money if they just have faith. So it's meme stock mania plus Trump idolatry. Potent combo.
It's a perfect (read: hellish) combination; both superstonk and MAGA are established cults with highly syncretic rituals of obeisance and fealty; buying the stock becomes an ingroup signifier, buying more a status symbol, and DRSing a loyalty pledge. Meanwhile, the grifting goes on...

That's incredible considering it's pretty clear he thinks very little, but very very little of the people that go to his rallies. He sometimes was just a itsy short of just saying "c'mon piggies, do you like slop? Yes you do, come here and I'll give you all the slop you can eat".
