everyone else is posting about borrowing books from a digital library, nothing is being illegally distributed, and the vast majority of the books are out of print. the authors would get nothing if you could even purchase a copy, and the ones that can, do.

which like, i really dont care! i dont care if you have to steal media because of an exploitative system, where the corporations in control of it do more theft than any of us ever could in our lives, but dont go around thinking youre on a high horse when you dont even understand the situation
Out of print does not equal out of copyright. Those authors still have a right to be fairly paid for their books being added to the IA, if they want them there to begin with. Authors certainly don’t make a fortune.
They do indeed, but they are by and large paid way more than most authors. Also, when certain games are made unavailable because of tv rights geoblocking, choices are limited.
