I asked this question at the other place earlier in the week: What would you do to salvage Nickelodeon the NETWORK in the eyes of the core demographic and NOT JUST THE NOSTALGIC ADULTS? It frustrated me that many of the folks who answered it just said "You can't. Just kill it. Go to where kids are"

If I was a 20-something-year-old dude & not the near-50-year-old man I am today, definitely NJPW. Build myself up as a dominant performer, become famous in Japan, create a name for myself in the indies & maybe take on the best AEW has to throw at me at Forbidden Door. Year 9, free agency, baby!

The irony of MeTV Toons hosting a panel in San Diego Comic Con, a major market that doesn't have an over-the-air MeTV affiliate, let alone a MeTV Toons affiliate.

Perhaps. I know it's not the only reason (the big studios have an allergy towards action on kids' brands), but I get the hunch that on the domestic & global side, they're trying to tone down LGBT themes on the Cartoon Network brand. CN barely mentioned Pride Month last month compared to last year.

They're heavily promoting Steven Universe? That's news to me considering it's not in active production and they're not making any new SU series or spinoff material of any kind unlike Adventure Time, Regular Show, and Foster's. Also, most international CN markets aren't as conservative as the US.

Yeaaaah, I doubt that. This theory makes no sense because: - CN have recently been promoting Steven Universe - MAWS airs on other international CN feeds The real reason is advertising. Can't make enough money with the regular ads during daytime CN.

Call me nuts, but I legitimately think that My Adventures with Superman moved from the Cartoon Network brand to Adult Swim brand because of LGBT+ elements. Last week's episode actually contained a romantic kiss between two ladies. CN has been trying to shy away from those elements globally too.

I think I have had a crisis of sorts when compiling this list of 100 animated shorts. Animated music videos should count, right? Because five of my solid choices are technically music videos, though only one meets the modern criteria of the term. The others are song-driven shorts. Do they count?

I... HATE... the fourth of July. The fake patriotism from folks who actively hate everyone who doesn't act like, look like, think like, or worship like them. The overt showcases of gluttony. The... DAMN... FIREWORKS and EXPLOSIVES that blow up several blocks. It's an arrogant holiday.

I'm currently writing a few books (two historical/retrospective books and a few stories) and building up my superhero universe. That said, I'd probably be doing that a little more comfortably with money for food and rent and enough to afford a new computer and external hard drive.

I... I think I have my definitive list of 100 shorts. It was HARD because there are SO many shorts I could have chosen, and I wanted to get a wide range of shorts from all eras, including television & internet shorts. The most recent short on the list came from 2023 (and it's in the top 30).

Screw it. I'm doing it myself. 30 years is way too long, and a lot has happened in animation in that time. So many shorts had been overlooked in the past. So many great shorts have come out since. Just saw one last week. And What's Opera, Doc? is not the greatest cartoon ever made. 100. 2025.

The whines coming from the usual vineyards about MeTV Toons having access to various Scooby-Doo shows, including Mystery Incorporated was expected because that crowd whines about everything. However, I am curious... Did they really think the channel would air Where Are You on weekdays forever?

I'm not a prophet or a soothsayer, but I've seen some things.

I think we, as a country, are easily distracted by things we see on the screen, be it a television or a phone, & it has made us (by "us," I mean the collective state of the country & not exactly my immediate of immediates) completely stupid. Some days, I'm glad I'm oblivious to things like that.

For some reason, the United States Government didn't like Schoolhouse Rock & ABC teaching kids about *reads notes* the United States Government. That's why when they adapted the Children's Television Act of 1990, they largely said that programs like Schoolhouse Rock didn't count as E/I programming.

Sometimes you stop everything to take a minute to listen to the rain fall + the ambience of wind & thunder and… it’s nice. It soothes. It mentally cleanses. You can just turn your mind off and listen to a soft noise and nothing else matters for a bit. It distracts from matters at hand which helps.
