Yeah, if you're keeping a locked Twitter accound as an archive or to prevent impersonation, you're gonna want to go in there and turn off their *Unannounced And On By Default* LLM training.
If anyone's wondering how things are going on the hellsite: This setting was just turned on by default for everyone. if you still have an account with content, go log in and disable this so Grok can't use your tweets as training data. Direct link: twitter.com/settings/gro...

Well, good news. Since cousin Kam and this poozer are both Californians, they can't be on the same presidential ticket. That said, if, god forbid, this country gets stupid, he'll be a party favorite in 2028 if there's an election that year.

I think I’m going to be fully leaving Twitter as it’s just become too toxic for me to handle and despite my largest following being there I don’t get the same engagement or work from there anymore. So if you’d like to help a trans artist recover some, a share and follow would be appreciated 😂💛

Much luck, and thank you for your service.

Sorry to hear that. Would have been nice to have an archival copy of the special, especially since this seems to be exclusive to MeTV Toons and will likely never air anywhere else.

A little ticked I can't see that Bugs Bunny anniversary special & marathon this weekend on MeTV Toons. Folks in these markets can't watch it over-the-air either: Detroit Denver San Diego Raleigh Columbus Cincinatti Norfolk/Hampton Roads Birmingham Austin Buffalo Ft Myers Albuquerque

"Get the channel on Frndly or Philo if you're in those markets." Look.. if a channel is supposed to be an over-the-air broadcast network, I'd rather not spend money on a service I don't want just to watch one channel I don't have. On Frndly, I already get 15 of the channels on the basic plan OTA.
Avatar
And I have 18 more on my cable system and a couple accessible on my Roku. It just seems like an extra expense I don't really need. I hope those markets (including mine) gets an OTA MeTV Toons affiliate sooner rather than later. I'm still holding out hope and still waiting it'll come here.

On a side note, it does feel a little ironic that MeTV Toons is having a panel at San Diego Comic Con this year when the network is not even available in that market over-the-air. Neither is MeTV, which is even weirder. (But seriously, MeTV should have aired the special too)

Dynamite's making a Thundarr the Barbarian comic? It's about time. That series never got on despite having icons like Steve Gerber, Gil Kane, & Jack Kirby on it. Big shoes to fill, but Dynamite seems to give these Hanna-Barbera (in this case, HB-adjacent Ruby-Spears) characters a lot of love.

Quick reminder: For whatever reason, YouTube is actively suppressing episode 01 of indie animation series PUNCH PUNCH FOREVER. (Seriously, search for it, it won't come up.) SO, make sure to watch it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ndB...

I dig it. It feels like a bloodier, slightly sexed-up version of OK KO (which was, itself, a love letter to 1980s/1990s anime and game culture). I hope more is made because this was way too fun.

Aye. This is going to (continue to) be Hell. Buckle your seatbelts, 'cause we're going DOWN DOWN.

I remember when Viacom did the same when they split CBS, Showtime, BET, POP, and the "old media" side of the company from Paramount Pictures and the non-pay cable brands to create CBS Corp and "new Viacom." New Viacom stagnated. CBS soared and got innovative, eventually creating CBS All Access.
Avatar
New Viacom looked lackluster & needed the CBS units to make themselves more attractive to the marketplace. The heads of CBS were resistant to a re-merger, so they were replaced by heads who weren't. Thus, ViacomCBS (now Paramount Global). They still had the same issues inherited from "new Viacom."

Where would something like TCM or Cartoon Network fit in? Currently, they're affixed to the network side, but neither would exist without the production/assets/library side of the company. And I doubt anyone would want to permanently rent a library a network was initially created around.

The fact that this plan will also sacrifice the entire Discovery side of the company is also a headscratcher, and that was Zaslav's big deal to these idiots. He was a reality king whose channels created and aired cheap, non-union productions. That was the side of the company that got a lot from WBD.
Avatar
He poured hundreds of millions into the pockets of Discovery talent like Guy Fieri, Bobby Flay, the Scott brothers, the Gaines (who got their own network, which is managed by HBO, not the linear TV unit), and others while crying poverty to the Warner Bros side of the company. It's uneven as hell.
Avatar
I read about that plan, and it only would make sense if they were only focusing on the domestic side of the company. But Warner Bros Discovery is an international company with linear channels all over the world, which still have high viewership. TNT Sports is the home of the Olympics internationally
Avatar
If that linear spinoff with the debt happens, it'll have to include the international networks as well. It's pretty myopic if it's only the domestic channels. And handing over turnkey networks with no libraries and a mountain of debt just isn't feasible or justifiable on a global scale. It's stupid.
Avatar
Somebody on the other site asked what would it take for David Zaslav to be fired by Warner Bros Discovery. He'd have to smash a cyanide-laced pie in John Malone's face and slice his head off, spray corrosive acid from a fire hose to the Board in public, blow up the NYC HQ & torch the studio lot.
Avatar
And even then, the Hollywood media rags would applaud him on his creative acumen which would probably get him hired by Sony or Comcast. Also, the acid-burned Board (which also includes the now decapitated body of John Malone) would still be okay with whatever Zaslav does. They. Don't. Care.
Avatar
Someone else asked me about what's Zaslav's endgame. They're not selling the company (nobody wants them). They're not splitting the company in half (that network-only unit would be a money pit full of billions in debt). They're also still buying companies and cutting deals for their units.
