I’m confident that these two pieces of excellent news which have taken place under the Biden administration’s watch—the IRS story in particular paints a sharp contrast with Trump/GOP demonization of the IRS—will dominate the news cycle.

this is it... the "conservatives" are finally the dogs that caught the car they've been chasing... they are now lined up for authoritarian rule, unless they're stopped in November. the entire world will suffer for our inability to resist fascism #supremecourt

Dobbs is the Dred Scott of the 21st century, and if Democrats had any spine or smarts would run a campaign around controlling Congress to get three things done: Repealing Comstock, setting birth as the standard for personhood, and affirming the ERA as the 28th Amendment.

I was saying this going into the 2022 midterms when the general polls looked so bad but they were having weird nonsense in the tabs. I thought Dems could hold the House, and but for CA and NY Dems, would have. Nobody's likely voter model has never seen anything at the magnitude of Dobbs

today is so very frustrating, how can we as a society continue when the systems meant to protect it won't do their jobs... everything comes down to keeping the white/rich minority in power.... how can we let the supreme court know how wrong they are

Listening to the XTC project band the dukes of stratosphear in 2024 is weird.. it came out in the mid 80's and it was a nod to the 60's as if it was so long ago at least it seemed like it to me as a teenager then.. but we are so much further away from the time they were nostalgic to . Still love it

@scalzi.com I've not read any of your books yet, but i find your presence here (and formerly the other place) to be quite good and interesting... what book would you recommend to someone who knows nothing of your works?

one way i feel like this place is as bad as twitter, is how people with lots of followers love to share their opinions as facts... and anyone who tries to contribute a different perspective is shouted down..it feels a little like trolling for people to respond, just for the shouting down

bluesky needs a feature to allow you to remove people from following I know i can just block someone.. but that always feels rude.. when all i want is for them not to follow me... the other place you could block, and unblock and after that they would no longer by default be following @rose.bsky.team
