Possibly because me pushing Cut Off at the Throat, of my free, promotional ebooks are still enjoying a comeback, with Spoil the Kill up to No.9 and The Vile Desire to Scream at No.12 in their respective categories. www.amazon.co.uk/Spoil-Kill-O... www.amazon.co.uk/Vile-Desire-...

Cut Off at the Throat has slipped down the rankings in the UK a bit, but apparently it has not lost its hotness! Still No.2 in Hot New Releases in Teen and Young Adult Sci-Fi Mystery ebooks. www.amazon.co.uk/Cut-Off-Thro...

The first Rambo film, First Blood, was a great action film that actually had some interesting things to say. Rambo: Last Blood could have been a really cool 'Old Man Rambo', Logan-style conclusion to his story. Instead, they created a girl victim just to have him brutally kill some nasty Mexicans.

I watched End of Days again last night, which is a pretty cheesy Arnold Schwarzennegger-meets-The-Omen action fest, but it can boast a scene where Arnie takes a severe beating from Miriam Margolyes.

Again, I'm not sure how these rankings work, though I know they change by the hour, but being placed in new releases in Teen and YA Dystopian among various #HungerGames editions, even for a while, is worth screenshotting. #YA #YADystopian #SciFi #CutOffAtTheThroat

I'm working on a map for a book at the moment, but I can't show it yet. In the meantime, for #PortfolioDay, here are some other maps I've done for books, three of mine, one for @julietemckenna.bsky.social. If you'd like something like this done for your story or game, get in touch. #Fantasy #Maps

Cut Off at the Throat is a 'Hot New Release' on Amazon UK! I don't know what the criteria are for this (I haven't bought any ads)! The #2 is not the ranking in these genres (it's at #14 and #27), so 'HOT' is a category within a category within a category. #YA #Dystopia #SciFi #ClimateChange

So, for now, Cut Off at the Throat has peaked in the UK at: #16 in Teen & Young Adult Sci-Fi Mystery eBooks (it dropped to #17 before I took the screenshot) #33 in Teen & Young Adult Sci-Fi Action & Adventure And #21 in Teen YA SF Mystery on Amazon.com. Now . . . how the hell do I keep it up there?

Maybe it's because of Cut Off at the Throat, but two of my promotional novellas are back on the 'bestseller' lists. If you'd like one of my shorter books as a free sample, Spoil the Kill is at No.10 in YA Science Fiction Mystery in the UK and The Vile Desire to Scream is at No.12 in YA Steampunk.

I’ve been saying for years that the pressure on traditionally published authors to do most of the work themselves will reach the point where it’ll start overlapping with self-publishing. So I figured it was time to put my money (or my work, at least), where my mouth is. 1/

I’ve self-published before. The first time was long before my first books, with a comic called Twisted I got printed way back in the olden days, pre-internet. I didn’t continue it because I didn’t know enough much about selling and the illustration work started picking up. 2/

Years later, I released the novella, The Vile Desire to Scream free online – though only on my website – to promote the Wildenstern Saga, my Irish steampunk books. There was some decent pick-up on it, and interestingly, the PDF did much better than the epub file back then. 3/

I am reminded of this other famous example of tech bros not understanding how copyright works.
